Audit

Once your company’s turnover goes above the statutory threshold, you will need to file audited annual accounts with Companies House.

An audit involves an independent examination of the company’s financial statements leading to the audit opinion. An unqualified audit opinion states that the accounts give a true and fair view of the company’s affairs at the accounting date, and have been properly prepared in accordance with the Companies Act.

Our principal, Geoffrey Collins, is registered as an auditor with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and will audit your accounts on our behalf. Our audit approach is to rely wherever possible on your own internal accounting controls. This allows us to concentrate on an analytical financial review of your numbers.

Advising you on growth and efficiency improvements

In carrying out an audit, we aim to deliver useful and relevant benefits to your management team. These include:

  • Assessing the effectiveness of the company’s internal systems
  • Providing independent business and tax planning advice during on site meetings, focusing on how best to achieve future growth and improvements in profitability
  • Issuing a formal management letter setting out any weaknesses we have found and making detailed recommendations to increase control and efficiency

Our audit clients find the advice we can give during the audit, including the formal management letter, a highly useful service.
